Through the Heart is inspired by the mural's proximity to the Little Sugar Creek Greenway. The greenway is one of Charlotte's gems - seamlessly linking people across a wide span of the city with active transportation and access to nature. It runs through a central part of Charlotte and connects to a larger web of trails and other greenways that help to connect the residents of the city. This mural pays tribute to the significance of the greenway to Charlotte, and reflects the brilliance of flora and fauna along the way.

Community was created for the 2019 Talking Walls Mural Festival. The painting depicts a brown trout, a fish commonly found in North Carolina waters and represents the idea of schooling or congregation within the environment and coming together to achieve a common goal, especially the given fact that it resides outside of a marketplace where many go to supplement their daily living essentials. The work also displays the blue flag iris which is also found in the state's wilderness and carries the same representation as the brown trout touting the ideas of community and unity.

This exclusive location inspired Plight of Hand. Rising into the skyline, the hand reaches for glory through the waters of life. Patched together are the colors of the fabric around us. Hidden above the floating world, this block of color and form is watching everything.

The lines of this mural are meant to draw the eye across this extra large crosswalk. The linear rectangles echo other architectural elements sprinkled throughout the Metropolitan complex. The shapes overlap and vary in width and length to create movement and interest across the space.
Amber Thompson | "Line Leader"
Meet me in Midtown was designed to reflect the vibrancy and history of the Midtown area. The bright color and the patterns sprinkled throughout represents the mixed-use nature of the community with its retail, residential, and office spaces. The typography was inspired by Mid-Century modern design - something prevalent during the era of the former Charlottetowne Mall that graced the same location.
